Arlington Congregational Church is committed to ministries of love and compassion inspired by Jesus Christ.  We do this locally, nationally, and internationally in many ways including:

Family Promise

Family Promise – working with an interdenominational group of congregations to assist families in need of emergency and long-term relief from homelessness.

  • Arlington Community Services – providing food and assistance for utility bills for Arlington residents in need, along with other area churches.

icare-I.C.A.R.E. – along with over 30 interfaith congregations we work toward community-wide solutions for problems such as jobs, mental health care access, youth crime, homelessness and more.

  • Micah’s Backpack Many children in Jacksonville’s public school depend on receiving free breakfasts and lunches at school to have enough to eat. On weekends these kids may go hungry. Micah’s Backpack is a volunteer effort to supply nonperishable, easy to prepare food which can be sent home in a backpack for a child to eat over the weekend during the school year. Food donations, money to food items, and volunteers to pack come from several churches, student groups, and community agencies. By the end of 2017/2018 school year we were packaging bags with canned pasta, tuna, peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, granola bars, etc for a total of 100 children at four different schools every Thursday evening.  Arlington Congregational Church has supported Micah’s Backpack with funding, food donations, and volunteers.

  • JASMYN – support local LGBTQ teens.

UCCUCC: Our Church’s Wider Mission – in cooperation with almost 6,000 other churches we work for justice for the oppressed, relief for those facing natural and man-made catastrophes, educating and serving persons in need, and sharing the good news of God with people without limit to their religion, nationality, sexuality, physical or mental abilities or disabilities to fulfill Christ’s commandment to “love one another as I have loved you.”
